About Getaway Shootout
Getaway Shootout does something strange with movement: everyone hops instead of walks. Left hop, right hop — that’s your vocabulary. It sounds limiting until you’re in a match bouncing off walls, accidentally launching yourself into a weapon crate, and landing on top of your opponent at the worst possible moment.
The goal is to reach the getaway vehicle before the other player. In the way: obstacles, pitfalls, and each other. Weapons — guns, grenades, tasers — scatter across each level, turning the race into a running battle where a well-timed shot can send your opponent off a ledge just as the exit comes into view.
How to play
Each player gets two inputs: hop left and hop right. Use items with a dedicated button. The movement takes a minute to get used to — you’re constantly adjusting your arc mid-air. Once it clicks, the game becomes about reading your opponent’s trajectory and positioning yourself to interrupt it.
Tips & Tricks
Don’t chase the weapon crate if it means going out of your way. Arriving at the exit two seconds before your opponent does more than picking up a gun and getting shot in the back.
The chaotic movement makes it hard to aim deliberately. If you have a weapon, use it when your opponent has no good hop options — when they’re mid-air with no choice about where they land.
